Question: I bought a T50 about 6 months ago and the light sensor isn’t working. How can I replace it?
Answer: A reset might help restore it, so don’t worry. Remove the batteries for a minute or two to reset it. Try with new batteries, that might help.
Question: Can it also be used for ducks? I have some Pekins that share the coop with our chickens.
Answer: We have some large chickens and they have no trouble getting through the door. I think the ducks would do fine too. By the way, it’s a great door.
Question: Can someone tell me how to adjust the night closure? The first time, I just adjusted the button next to the sun, and it closed 45 minutes before it got dark.
Answer: You can adjust the night closure by turning the potentiometer (test button) clockwise towards the moon symbol and activating switches 1 and/or 2 on the drive unit. If switch 1 is activated, the door closes 30 minutes after sunset, and switch 2 closes 60 minutes after sunset. If both switches are activated, the door closes 90 minutes after sunset.
Question: Can you adjust the night closure in the same way as the morning closure?
Answer: Sure, you can adjust the night closure by turning the potentiometer located at the bottom right of the power unit (visible in the instructions). This is done without tools and is always accessible.
Question: How does this door opener work in sub-zero temperatures? Even with snow and ice?
Answer: I believe as long as no water/moisture gets into the slots and mechanisms, there’s nothing that can freeze. Metal contracts in the cold, so the tolerances become a bit larger.
